Tour Overview

Explore Dublin through the words, lives, and legacy of its greatest literary figures on this refined and immersive literary walking tour. This experience combines a 90-minute guided literary walk, traditional Afternoon Tea in Merrion Square, and timed entry to the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI).

Led by an expert local guide, guests journey chronologically through Dublin’s literary history — from Jonathan Swift and Oscar Wilde to Yeats, Joyce, Beckett, and modern Irish writers. Designed as a premium cultural experience, this tour blends storytelling, historic locations, and Irish hospitality, concluding at MoLI for independent exploration.

This premium literary experience begins in historic Dublin, where guests are introduced to the city’s earliest literary voices and the social world that shaped them. Starting with Jonathan Swift and 18th-century satire near St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the tour traces Dublin’s literary evolution through Georgian society and the rise of Irish cultural identity.

The route continues through Trinity College and College Green, examining education, class, and nationalism, before moving through other charming Dublin streets— connected to publishers, bookshops, and writers including James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, W.B. Yeats, and the Literary Revival that placed Ireland at the centre of world literature.

The experience concludes with timed entry to the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI), where guests explore Ireland’s written heritage independently, including rare manuscripts and the first edition of Ulysses. Following the guided walk, guests enjoy a 1-hour traditional Afternoon Tea in and around Merrion Square, a neighbourhood steeped in literary and political history.

What does LetzGo's Dublin Literary Legends tour cover?

LetzGo’s 2.5-hour Dublin Literary Legends tour traces the city’s extraordinary literary tradition through a chronological guided walk and a timed-entry visit to the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI). Your guide covers Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde, W.B. Yeats, James Joyce, Samuel Beckett and Seamus Heaney, connecting their lives to the streets, buildings and intellectual culture of Dublin. The tour explores areas linked to the city’s publishing and literary history, with independent time inside MoLI included.

Is the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI) included in LetzGo's Dublin literary tour?

Yes, timed-entry tickets to the Museum of Literature Ireland are included in the tour price. After the guided 90-minute literary walking tour, guests enter MoLI independently to explore its collection of manuscripts, first editions and personal artefacts from Ireland’s greatest writers at their own pace. The museum is housed in one of Dublin’s finest Georgian buildings on St Stephen’s Green, making it the ideal setting to conclude a tour dedicated to Irish literary heritage.

What is the Afternoon Tea upgrade on LetzGo's Dublin Writers tour, and is it worth it?

The Afternoon Tea upgrade adds a Georgian afternoon tea experience in Merrion Square, one of Dublin’s most elegant historic addresses — to the end of the literary tour. The upgrade transforms a cultural walk into a complete half-day experience, combining the stories of Ireland’s Nobel Prize-winning writers with the refinement of a traditional afternoon tea in the neighbourhood where many of those same writers lived and worked. It is particularly recommended for guests who want a special occasion feel rather than a standard guided tour.

What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?

We offer free cancellation and free rescheduling on all bookings made more than 24 hours before your scheduled tour departure time. If your plans change, simply contact us as early as possible and we will rebook you onto another available date at no additional charge.

Cancellations or changes requested less than 24 hours before departure are not possible, and the booking will be treated as non-refundable. This policy exists because our tours operate with a limited number of guests, and last-minute cancellations prevent us from offering the spot to other travellers.

We strongly recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred date, particularly during peak travel seasons (June to September) when availability fills quickly. If you are booking for a group, please contact us directly before completing your booking so we can advise on availability and any group-specific arrangements.

Is this tour accessible for guests with reduced mobility or physical limitations?

We want to be transparent about this so that every guest can make an informed decision before booking. This tour is not currently recommended for guests using wheelchairs, motorised scooters or other mobility assistance devices. The tour route includes a significant amount of walking and covers surfaces that can be challenging, including cobblestones, hills, inclines, declines and stairs across both venues.

Strollers and baby carriages cannot be accommodated on this tour.

We also ask that all participants be in good general health. If you have a medical condition or are not accustomed to regular exercise, we recommend consulting your doctor before booking.

If you have specific mobility concerns and are unsure whether this tour is right for you, please contact us before booking — we will always advise honestly based on your situation, and we can explore whether alternative tour options or arrangements may be more suitable.
