This fully guided visit to one of London’s most iconic landmarks offers the best opportunity to view 100 objects and over 23,000 gemstones displayed in a royal setting that is designed to impress. This comprehensive tour of the Tower of London is led by a first-class Blue Badge London guide who will begin outside the tower and introduce guests to the fortress structure, built by William the Conqueror in the 1070s. Upon entering, the guide will discuss the architectural developments of the Tower from its beginning up to the present day and how it evolved into one of the most famous royal residences in the world. The tour will also include a visit to the infamous execution site where many of those imprisoned where subjected to either private or public executions depending on their crimes and status including prisoners like Ann Boleyn the 2nd wife of Henry VIII who after three years of marriage sentenced her to execution, just one of many executions that have inspired dozens of books and films.   • Wear comfortable shoes as this tour involves a fair amount of walking, including over uneven surfaces, cobblestones, hills, inclines/declines and stairs.

Please note: Due to Tower of London venue rules, all guides are currently unable to guide inside some areas of the Tower of London site.  This rule is in place until further notice. We are still able to guide in the other areas of the Tower of London site and you will be able to visit guiding-restricted areas independently. Your expert guide will provide all the information needed to fully understand and appreciate these parts of the Tower. There is also a mandatory security line that all guests must pass through. Guests need to be aware that there are uneven surfaces, inclines, declines and steps as well as cobble stones. Please note that the Churches located within the tower, can be closed due to a private function. When this occurs the local expert guide will try to offer and alternative where possible.

Guests can stay in the Tower of London for more time up to closing time on any operating day. Guided segment is 3 hours long.
