Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the Galway Beer and Whiskey Live Music Tour?

The tour includes craft beer tastings across four authentic Galway pubs, featuring Galway Bay Brewery selections, traditional Irish red ales and a signature whiskey drink. Your expert local guide accompanies you throughout, providing storytelling and cultural context at each venue. The tour concludes at one of Galway’s top live music venues where traditional Irish music is performed live. All drinks listed are included in the tour price.

Is this a pub crawl?

No — and that distinction matters. This is a curated, small-group cultural experience designed to show you the authentic side of Galway’s pub and music scene. Rather than moving quickly between venues for the sake of it, each stop is chosen for its character, quality and story. Your guide provides context on Ireland’s brewing traditions, pub culture and the history of the venues you visit. The pace is relaxed, the group is small, and the experience is social rather than party-focused.

Where does the Galway Beer and Whiskey Tour start and how long does it last?

The tour begins at Eyre Square, one of Galway’s most central and historically significant locations, at one of the city’s most iconic pubs. From there your guide leads the group through the Latin Quarter and across the River Corrib into the West End, finishing at a live music venue. The full experience runs approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Guests are welcome to stay on at the final venue after the tour concludes.

What makes this the best nightlife experience in Galway?

Galway has one of the most celebrated pub and live music scenes in Ireland — but knowing where to go, what to order and what you’re actually looking at is what separates a good night from a great one. This tour gives you access to four carefully selected venues, expert-guided tastings, and a finale of traditional Irish live music, all with a local guide who knows the city properly. It is the most complete and authentic way to experience Galway after dark.

What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?

We offer free cancellation and free rescheduling on all bookings made more than 24 hours before your scheduled tour departure time. If your plans change, simply contact us as early as possible and we will rebook you onto another available date at no additional charge.

Cancellations or changes requested less than 24 hours before departure are not possible, and the booking will be treated as non-refundable. This policy exists because our tours operate with a limited number of guests, and last-minute cancellations prevent us from offering the spot to other travellers.

We strongly recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred date, particularly during peak travel seasons (June to September) when availability fills quickly. If you are booking for a group, please contact us directly before completing your booking so we can advise on availability and any group-specific arrangements.

Is this tour accessible for guests with reduced mobility or physical limitations?

We want to be transparent about this so that every guest can make an informed decision before booking. This tour is not currently recommended for guests using wheelchairs, motorised scooters or other mobility assistance devices. The tour route includes a significant amount of walking and covers surfaces that can be challenging, including cobblestones, hills, inclines, declines and stairs across both venues.

Strollers and baby carriages cannot be accommodated on this tour.

We also ask that all participants be in good general health. If you have a medical condition or are not accustomed to regular exercise, we recommend consulting your doctor before booking.

If you have specific mobility concerns and are unsure whether this tour is right for you, please contact us before booking — we will always advise honestly based on your situation, and we can explore whether alternative tour options or arrangements may be more suitable.
